I never thought I would sleep train my baby. How naive I was!
My son had been a pretty great sleeper until around the 3-month mark, when he started waking up once or twice a night. Nothing major, and although it felt like a step backward, I was fine with feeding him and getting those cuddles. But then he started waking up 4 or 5 times a night.
I couldn’t feed him back to sleep every time, so we introduced a pacifier, and that seemed to help a little. But it still required rocking, shushing, and a gentle transfer back into the bassinet. Then he started waking up just to cry for the pacifier to be put back in his mouth. This wasn’t any better than before!
It got to the point where he was waking every 45 minutes. I went from getting 8 hours of sleep a night to no more than 20-minute blocks a few times. My poor boy was so overtired, and he just couldn’t sleep. It was beyond frustrating for both of us.
This couldn’t be normal!
I started talking to moms around me, and they all mentioned the dreaded 4-month sleep regression. Apparently, they had all gone through it too. Okay, I had a name for it. But now what? How do I fix this?

In less than 11 MINUTES after putting him down awake, he put himself to sleep!
How was this even possible?
